Newly Appointed Centre Director at Braehead focuses on Retail Design

Braehead, one of the UK’s top retail and leisure destinations, has named Ashley Bisland as its new Centre Director. Bisland, who first joined the Braehead team in December 2022 as Deputy Centre Director, brings with her over 12 years of experience in shopping centre management at Savills.

Ashley has a proven track record in placemaking, destination marketing, and providing exceptional guest experiences. She has been successfully managing the site since February 2024 and has strong ties to the local community, having lived in the area since childhood.

Braehead, located just outside Glasgow, spans 1.1 million sq ft and serves a catchment of approximately 2.1 million people. The centre boasts a mix of well-known brands such as M&S, Apple, Primark, TK Maxx, and NEXT, as well as a variety of local and independent retailers.

Rachel Scott, Asset Manager at Global Mutual, expressed excitement about Ashley’s appointment, highlighting her passion for Braehead’s success. Scott emphasized Ashley’s understanding of retail trends, brand relationships, and providing exceptional shopper experiences.

Saagar Sachdev, Director at Savills, also praised Ashley’s appointment, noting the positive start Braehead has had in the year with various leasing deals in progress. The strong management team at Braehead is well-equipped to navigate the changing retail landscape and continue to meet the needs of brands and customers alike.
