New Theme Revealed for Troy Strawberry Festival kickoff Program

Troy Strawberry Festival

Local nonprofits are set to benefit from the annual Troy Strawberry Festival, which typically takes place during the first weekend of June. This year’s festival is scheduled for June 1 and 2, with traditional local festivities kicking off on Friday, May 31.

The festival’s theme for 2024 has been chosen by Jules Harris, who is serving as the festival general chairperson. During the program, Harris received the chair’s red jacket from nine past festival chairpersons.

Tammy Walkup, the chairperson of last year’s festival, expressed gratitude for the “wonderful” weather and large crowds that attended the 2023 event. Festivities took place on the Great Miami River Levee and in downtown Troy.

Harris, owner of Trojan Florist and Gifts along with her husband, said that her festival theme was a natural choice. She expressed her honor in being selected as the festival chair and acknowledged the collective effort required to organize the event. “It takes a village to take this on, it really does,” Harris said.

The 2023 festival saw the participation of 52 nonprofits and reported a net income of approximately 0,000. For more information about the festival, please visit www.troystrawberryfest.com or check out the festival’s Facebook page.
