‘New Stories Unveiled at the International Book Fair in Abu Dhabi’

The 33rd Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF) has officially opened its doors at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). The theme for this year’s fair is “Where the World’s Tales Unfold,” promising a week of literary exploration and cultural exchange.

With a record-breaking 1,350 publishers from 90 countries participating, including 140 first-time exhibitors, the ADIBF 2024 is set to be a diverse and engaging event. Attendees can expect over 2,000 events, including author meet-and-greets, panel discussions, and writing workshops.

Notable highlights include the presence of 12 countries participating for the first time, such as Greece, Sri Lanka, and Malaysia, showcasing their unique literary traditions. China’s impressive nine pavilions mark a milestone, highlighting the country’s increasing role in the global literary scene.

In a first for the fair, a digital payment system has been introduced to streamline the purchasing process for visitors, emphasizing innovation at ADIBF 2024. The Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre (ALC), the fair’s organizer, is dedicated to promoting Arab literature globally, with a focus on Arabic authors and their storytelling contributions.

More than just a book fair, the ADIBF 2024 serves as a platform for cultural exchange and dialogue, bringing together diverse voices and perspectives. Through this celebration of stories, the fair showcases the unifying power of literature in fostering understanding and connection between cultures.
