New Startupper of the Year Challenge 4th Edition Launched

TotalEnergies recently announced the launch of the 4th edition of the Startupper of the Year Challenge in celebration of its 100th anniversary. This initiative aims to recognize and reward young innovative entrepreneurs across Africa.

The 2024/2025 Startupper Challenge will be a special edition, acknowledging 100 entrepreneurs from 32 African countries in three prize categories: Innov’Up, Cycle’Up, and Power’Up. Innov’Up will honor exceptional innovation, Cycle’Up will focus on the circular economy, and Power’Up will highlight sustainable and affordable energy solutions.

During a press conference, Adesua Adewole, General Manager of Country Services at TotalEnergies Marketing Nigeria Plc, emphasized the company’s dedication to nurturing young talent. This edition targets entrepreneurs aged 18 to 35 in Nigeria with business creation projects or startups less than three years old, regardless of the sector.

The selection process will be overseen by a local jury of experts, business leaders, and startup ecosystem stakeholders who will choose three winners. These winners will receive the title of “Startupper of the Year by TotalEnergies,” along with a monetary award of N8 million, personalized support, coaching, and a promotional campaign.

Additionally, four projects in the Power’Up category will be recognized by an international jury. Entries will be evaluated based on sustainable development goals, innovation, feasibility, development potential, and gender equality.

The location of the celebratory event where winners can showcase their projects will be announced later. Entrepreneurs from countries like Morocco, Algeria, Egypt, Tunisia, Ivory Coast, Senegal, and more across the continent are eligible to participate.

This initiative demonstrates TotalEnergies’ commitment to supporting innovative entrepreneurship and celebrates a century of growth and sustainability efforts in the energy sector.
