New pictures show rumored white and digital version of Xbox Series X
Rumors are swirling about Microsoft’s potential new version of the Xbox Series X console, which is believed to ditch the disc drive, similar to the Xbox Series S. Images circulating online show what appears to be a white-colored Xbox Series X unit without a disc drive. The design seems identical to the standard Xbox Series X console.
According to reports from Exputer, the leaked images were allegedly obtained from an unnamed source via email. The same site previously published an article in February discussing these rumored upcoming Xbox Series X consoles. It is speculated that the new console may feature an upgraded heatsink and Nexus card, with no other hardware changes besides the absence of a disc drive.
Sources suggest that Microsoft could potentially release this new Xbox Series X model in June or July of 2024. With Microsoft unveiling a black Xbox Series S console in June 2023, the timing seems right for a new Xbox Series X announcement at the 2024 Xbox Game Showcase in June.
If the rumors are true, the new Xbox Series X model may be priced between to 0 less than the current version. However, it is important to note that Microsoft has not officially confirmed the existence of a disc-less Xbox Series X console. Past experiences show that Microsoft has canceled hardware products before their scheduled launch, such as the Surface Mini tablet. So, until official confirmation is received, it is best to take these reports with a grain of salt.
