New Patients Welcome at Port Hardy Primary Health Care Centre
Residents in and around Port Hardy can now benefit from increased access to primary care services with the recent addition of Dr. Sinan Alkhaleeli to the Port Hardy Primary Health Care Centre. Dr. Alkhaleeli, a seasoned family doctor with over 13 years of experience, is now accepting new clients and will also be contributing his expertise at the Port Hardy Hospital Emergency Department.
Since his arrival in November 2023, Dr. Alkhaleeli has made it his mission to ensure that patients receive the specialized care they require. His diverse skill set includes expertise in urgent and emergency care, chronic conditions like diabetes and hypertension, as well as gastroenterological, endocrinological, respiratory, and cardiological disorders. He is also experienced in managing infectious diseases and post-cardiac events.
The addition of Dr. Alkhaleeli to the primary health care team has been met with enthusiasm by Adrian Dix, Minister of Health, who sees it as a significant enhancement to local health care services. Similarly, MLA for North Island, Michele Babchuk, recognizes the value of Dr. Alkhaleeli’s expertise in improving access to high-quality care for patients in the region.
Despite transitioning from a bustling city to Port Hardy, Dr. Alkhaleeli has found a welcoming and supportive team at the health care center, which has made his transition smooth. The clinic’s Primary Care Coordinator, Jodi Wright, highlights the importance of having a dedicated family physician like Dr. Alkhaleeli to offer consistent appointments for patients.
Dr. Alkhaleeli’s arrival has also been celebrated by Ian Wood, NVI Clinical Services Director, who believes that his experience and dedication will benefit the communities in NVI. Apart from his medical practice, Dr. Alkhaleeli has a passion for carpentry, electronics, and outdoor activities, which he hopes to enjoy in the vibrant Port Hardy community.
