New Partnership in Bay of Lights Sparks Economic Ties between Cambodia and the Middle East

Bay of Lights has forged a strategic partnership with the Annual Investment Meeting (AIM) Congress, paving the way for enhanced economic ties between Cambodia and the Middle East. This collaboration between Cambodia’s Bay of Lights development and the UAE’s premier investment platform, AIM Congress, signifies a significant milestone in strengthening the relationship between Asia and the Middle East, sparking a new era of economic development in Cambodia.

The partnership was formalized after nearly a year of negotiations and visits by AIM’s Director General, culminating in an agreement signed at Bay of Lights’ new Business Center in Sihanoukville. The ceremony was presided over by Em Pheap, the Deputy Governor of Preah Sihanouk Province, with His Excellency Dawood Al Shezawi, President of AIM Congress, serving as the signatory.

AIM Congress, a key investment platform in the Middle East focusing on foreign direct investment (FDI), future cities, and small and medium enterprises (SMEs), has a track record of hosting thousands of delegates from around the globe and partnering with exhibitors to promote economic growth and international relations.

The partnership between Bay of Lights and AIM Congress is expected to attract Middle Eastern investments to Sihanoukville, driving growth and prosperity in the region. Plans are in place to develop Sihanoukville’s first international Convention and Exhibition Center within Bay of Lights, a cutting-edge venue spanning 11 hectares for global conventions and premier events.

This collaboration is just the beginning, as both parties are set to finalize a joint development agreement at AIM Congress 2024 in Abu Dhabi in May, further solidifying their commitment to innovative development strategies and a prosperous future.

Bay of Lights is a visionary development project reshaping the landscape of Sihanoukville, Cambodia, with a focus on financial services, tourism, education, entertainment, health and wellness, and art and culture. With an investment of USD 16 billion, Bay of Lights aims to create a world-class financial and tourism hub that fosters connectivity among diverse sectors and drives economic growth in the region.
