New Octa V8 Land Rover Defender unveiled

Land Rover has unveiled the Octa, a high-performance version of the Defender 4×4 that boasts a twin-turbocharged V8 engine with mild-hybrid technology. This flagship model will be the first in the Land Rover lineup to bear the Octa badge, signifying its toughness and off-road capabilities.

The Octa promises to be the most capable and luxurious Defender yet, with a powerful V8 engine that could potentially deliver over 600hp. This would make it the most powerful version of the Defender to date, surpassing the current 525hp supercharged V8 model.

Equipped with Land Rover’s 6D Dynamic suspension system, the Octa will offer a combination of on-road stability and off-road capability. The suspension system aims to control pitch and roll while maintaining the Defender’s legendary off-road performance.

The name Octa is inspired by the octahedron shape of a diamond, symbolizing the toughness and durability of this new Defender model. Inside and out, the Octa will feature a new badge with a black diamond design on a titanium disc.

Currently undergoing testing in various environments, including snow and ice in Sweden and deserts in Dubai, the Octa is also set to tackle the famous Nürburgring circuit in Germany. More details and pricing for the Octa will be revealed later in 2024, with the expectation that it will be priced higher than the current Defender V8 model.

Stay tuned for updates on the Land Rover Defender Octa and its performance capabilities as it prepares to make its mark in the world of high-performance SUVs.
