New national partnership with Instacart announced by IGA

The IGA has recently announced a strategic partnership with Instacart, aimed at providing enhanced services and technology solutions to its 2,000-plus member stores across the United States. This collaboration will allow IGA members to leverage Instacart’s suite of technologies, insights, and benefits to improve omnichannel efficiency and effectiveness.

According to Michael La Kier, VP of brand development at IGA, this partnership with Instacart will provide independent retail members with access to a dedicated team and a range of capabilities and services. Key technologies that IGA members will be able to utilize include Instacart’s Storefront white-label solution, Caper Carts powered by artificial intelligence, Scan and Pay for mobile checkout, Carrot Tags for electronic shelf labels, FoodStorm for food service management, and Out of Stock Insights for real-time inventory updates.

In addition, IGA members will have access to Instacart’s Marketplace through the app and website, enabling retailers to connect with customers and offer same-day delivery services. Some IGA retailers, such as Geissler’s Supermarkets, have already implemented Instacart solutions, with plans to further integrate technology like Caper Carts into their operations.

As part of the partnership, Instacart’s head of revenue for local independent grocery, Merrick Rosner, will join IGA’s National Retailer Advisory Board. This collaboration marks a significant step for IGA members in enhancing their digital capabilities and expanding their ecommerce offerings to meet changing consumer demands.
