‘New Music Festival at Sherdley Park Created by Local Couple for St Helens’

Sherdley Park in St Helens is gearing up to host a brand-new music festival this summer, created by the dynamic duo Phil and Tara Thomas. Their Picnic in the Park festival has already solidified its place as a staple event in St Helens, and now they are ready to launch Pulse Music Festival in Sherdley Park.

Set to attract a crowd of up to 5,000 people, Pulse Music Festival will feature six acts on its main stage, including local DJ Eric McKenna, Ben from Phats & Small, Ultra 90s, and the Oaces tribute band. The headliners for the festival on Saturday, July 13, will be the popular band Scouting for Girls.

Phil Thomas, 53, expressed his passion for organizing music festivals, stating, “Me and Tara get a real buzz from it, and while Picnic in the Park in Rainford is for charity, we thought we’d like to do another event; make a little business for ourselves and get it going.” After witnessing the success of Picnic in the Park, they decided it was time to expand and create Pulse Music Festival.

Building a strong relationship with Scouting for Girls after their performance at Rainford last year was a key factor in Phil and Tara’s decision to launch Pulse Music Festival this summer. The couple aims to replicate the family-friendly atmosphere of Rainford at the new festival, including a funfair, activities for kids, food stalls, and a bar for attendees to enjoy.

With early bird tickets priced at £28 for adults and £15 for children available until this Sunday, Pulse Music Festival promises to be a memorable day filled with music, laughter, and unforgettable moments. This inaugural event is set to become an annual highlight in the St Helens music scene, providing a platform for both established and local musicians to showcase their talents on a big stage.
