New Electric Jeep for ,000 Coming Soon
Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares has announced plans to accelerate electric vehicle sales in the US by introducing a more affordable Jeep model. Tavares referenced the success of the 20,000 Euro Citroen e-C3 in Europe, stating that a ,000 Jeep will soon be available in the US, a move aimed at making EVs more accessible to customers. This aligns with Stellantis’ goal of producing a “safe, clean and affordable” battery electric vehicle at a competitive price point.
While Stellantis has focused on plug-in hybrid Jeep vehicles in the US, the company already offers an all-electric version of its Avenger SUV in Europe for around ,800. The introduction of a ,000 Jeep EV is in line with the company’s long-term strategy to offer more affordable electric vehicles, following in the footsteps of competitors like Tesla.
In a recent development, Jeep unveiled its 2024 electric Wagoneer S, which has been described as a direct response to Tesla. The vehicle boasts a 600-horsepower engine and can go from 0-60mph in just 3.4 seconds, making it Stellantis’ fastest vehicle to date. Despite its impressive performance, the electric Wagoneer S will launch in the US with a price tag of over ,000 before tax credits.
