New Digital School Opens at Refugee Camp in Mrajeeb Al Fhood

The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives’ (MBRGI) Digital School has joined forces with Jordan’s Ministry of Education to convert the Emirati-Jordanian Refugee Camp’s school in Mrajeeb Al Fhood into a digital school catering to grades 1-12.

The Digital School Initiative is geared towards empowering refugees and underserved students, providing certified online education to young people regardless of their social, economic, and educational backgrounds. The goal is to offer quality education to students globally, especially those from marginalized communities.

Omar Sultan AlOlama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Digital School, emphasized the significance of transforming the Camp’s school into a fully integrated digital institution. This initiative signifies a significant milestone in the collaboration between the United Arab Emirates and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

The launch event was attended by Hamoud Al Junaibi, Deputy Secretary-General of the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), along with senior officials from the Jordanian Ministry of Education, the UAE Embassy, the Digital School, and the Emirati-Jordanian Refugee Camp’s school in Mrajeeb Al Fhood.

The school now provides a modern learning environment for around 2,500 students. With the implementation of a comprehensive digital transformation model, the institution has greatly improved the student experience. All 45 classrooms are now equipped with cutting-edge technology such as interactive displays and reliable internet access to support digital learning.
