New Data Specialist Joins Waterville Accelerator

Dirigo Labs, a Waterville startup accelerator, has appointed Mufaddal Ali as a project management specialist, leveraging his expertise in data science. A 2021 graduate of Colby College, Ali will be responsible for overseeing outcome and impact metrics for cohort members, as well as providing valuable insights into business development strategies.

In a recent statement, Ali emphasized the crucial role of AI-powered tools and analytics in giving businesses a competitive edge in the marketplace. Drawing on his experience as a data scientist at Lincoln Financial Group in Boston and as the co-founder of Pair Technologies, a Maine-based startup, Ali brings a wealth of knowledge to his new role.

Susan Ruhlin, the managing director of Dirigo Labs, highlighted the significance of data in driving success for business startups. She emphasized the transformative power of data in converting abstract concepts into actionable intelligence, ultimately contributing to broader economic development in the state and region.

Emalee Hall, the organization’s program manager, praised Ali’s appointment as strengthening ties with Colby College and the Halloran Lab for Entrepreneurship, fostering a collaborative entrepreneurial ecosystem. Dirigo Labs, operating under the Central Maine Growth Council, enjoys support from various organizations, academic institutions, and investment firms.
