‘New Collaboration Between TEAC and PXCom for In-Flight Entertainment System’

TEAC Corporation, based in Tokyo, has announced a business partnership with PXCom, headquartered in France, to serve as an overseas sales partner for the PS-V50 GEN2 server for in-flight entertainment.

PXCom conducted extensive tests on the PS-V50 GEN2 to ensure it meets the functionality and quality standards of airline clients, leading to a full-fledged collaboration between the two companies.

The PS-V50 GEN2 is a battery-powered and lightweight portable streaming server for aircraft, equipped with a built-in Wi-Fi access point. It can deliver digital content such as videos, music, ebooks, flight maps, and in-flight sales catalogs to passengers’ smartphones and other devices via Wi-Fi. The server can also be powered by the aircraft itself.

TEAC will showcase the PS-V50 GEN2, featuring both TEAC’s standard system and PXCom’s system, at the Aviation Festival Asia 2024 in Singapore on February 28th and 29th, 2024. Visitors can find TEAC at Booth #E17 in the Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre.

PXCom, with over 25 airline customers and more than 300 aircraft installations, is a well-known IFEC platform supplier offering in-flight digital solutions including entertainment, in-flight sales and payment systems, and management platforms for these systems. They have selected TEAC’s PS-V50 GEN2 as a trusted addition to their lineup of hardware for in-flight digital platforms.

TEAC aims to expand their presence in overseas markets by collaborating with system integrators (SIer) in each region. The PS-V50 GEN2 will be offered as an open platform for SIers to develop their own applications and sell as their own product, allowing for customization based on regional needs and specialties.
