‘New Chief Executive Officer Named at Britten Pears Arts’

Britten Pears Arts Welcomes Andrew Comben as New CEO

Britten Pears Arts has announced the appointment of Andrew Comben as its new Chief Executive Officer. Comben, originally from Australia, brings a wealth of experience in the arts industry in the UK dating back to 1993.

Prior to joining Britten Pears Arts, Comben served as the Chief Executive of Brighton Dome & Brighton Festival since 2008. During his time there, he implemented the annual Guest Director model for the Brighton Festival, expanded community and educational programs, and oversaw the restoration and redevelopment of performance spaces.

Chair of the Board of Trustees at Britten Pears Arts, Sir Simon Robey, expressed excitement about Comben’s appointment, highlighting his success at Wigmore Hall and Brighton Dome & Brighton Festival. Comben’s passion for the arts, commitment to community engagement, and work with young people align with the vision of Britten Pears Arts.

In a statement, Comben expressed his honor in taking on the role and paying tribute to his predecessors for establishing a foundation for artists to thrive. He looks forward to working with the staff and board to shape the organization’s future.

Comben will succeed Roger Wright CBE, who led Britten Pears Arts for the past 10 years. He will officially assume his new position in September.

This transition marks a new chapter for Britten Pears Arts under Comben’s leadership.
