New CEO Michael Asselta Hired by Compassus

Compassus, one of the nation’s largest home-based care providers, has announced Michael J. Asselta as its new CEO. Asselta takes the helm from David Grams, who served as CEO since 2022. Grams will transition into an interim advisory role to assist with the change.

Asselta joins Compassus with a wealth of experience, having previously held leadership positions at Fresenius Medical Care North America, Quest Diagnostics, and SelectQuote Senior. His background in driving operational excellence and growth in multi-site health care service organizations makes him well-suited to lead Compassus in expanding access to integrated, home-based care services.

Under Grams’ leadership, Compassus has seen significant growth and recognition. The company was named one of the six home health providers to watch by Home Health Care News last year, thanks to its consistent growth and inclusion in Inc. 5000’s list of fastest-growing U.S. companies.

Compassus has also been proactive in forming partnerships to expand its reach, such as a joint venture with Bon Secours Mercy Health and an expansion with Ascension in Tennessee. Asselta aims to build upon these achievements as Compassus continues to provide high-quality, home-based care across the country through market-leading partnerships.

In a statement, Asselta expressed his excitement to lead Compassus into the next phase, emphasizing the organization’s commitment to transforming lives through person-centered care. With a dedicated management team by his side, Asselta is determined to uphold Compassus’ reputation for excellence and deliver on its mission of providing care where people live.
