Myriam Bonami: A Personal Story of Success

My Career Journey: With a natural curiosity and a love for new challenges, I have spent over 14 years working in various sectors including consulting, fashion retail, food and beverage, media, and education. After completing my EMBA and engaging in global learning trips for two years, where I interacted with students from diverse backgrounds and cultures, I was inspired to pursue a career in the education sector.

Passionate about lifelong learning, I have devoted the past 8 years of my career to the education sector as a Senior Education consultant. Working on projects in Higher Education, Educational Foundations, and corporate learning programs internationally, I have gained extensive experience in the industry. Throughout my career, I have developed and implemented effective strategies to optimize educational offerings, improve operational efficiency, and drive growth and innovation in the education sector.

My current role as a Sustainable Innovation Manager | Academic Partnerships Specialist at Project Set involves developing academic challenge program strategies focused on innovation entrepreneurship and sustainability initiatives. I collaborate with academic institutions and stakeholders to embed sustainability strategies in education and empower educators and schools to address climate change in their communities.

Project Set is an online platform connecting university students, employers, and educators for virtual internships, hackathons, and course projects to enhance students’ employability. Utilizing a project-based engagement model, Project Set aims to scale impact and inclusivity in work-integrated learning programs.

Importance of Work-Integrated Learning: Work-integrated learning programs integrate real-world experiences into students’ degree curriculum, helping them develop essential work skills. Engaging with businesses to create tailored job roles for students, these programs enhance students’ workplace experience and application of theoretical knowledge to practice, leading to better employment outcomes post-graduation.

Empowering Business Students: The education landscape is evolving to prepare business students for future jobs through internships, externships, and other practical experiences. Co-operative education, entrepreneurship programs, field placements, and extracurricular activities aim to equip students with the skills they need to succeed in the workplace.

Gender Equality in Education: Ensuring education is accessible to all genders without discrimination is crucial. Accreditation criteria now include enrolling students of diverse genders and nationalities, enriching educational programs with varied experiences. Efforts to attract more women to programs like EMBA through scholarships and referral programs are on the rise, supported by initiatives like the SDGS goals challenge program to promote gender equity in education and the workplace.

Overall, my journey in the education sector has been challenging yet fulfilling, as I continue to work towards empowering future generations and promoting diversity and equality in education and the workplace.
