Music at Paxton Festival 2024 Highlights Mark Padmore, Gavin Bryars, and Helen Charlston

The 2024 Music at Paxton festival has announced its lineup of events, focusing on vocal works for the upcoming performances. Mezzo-soprano Helen Charlston will be teaming up with the Consone Quartet to showcase the compositions of Clara Schumann, Robert Schumann, Felix Mendelssohn, and Fanny Mendelssohn on July 20, 2024.

Composer Gavin Bryars will be in conversation with artistic director Angus Smith for a special “meet the composer” event on July 21, 2024. Tenor Mark Padmore and pianist Jocelyn Freeman will take the stage on July 26, 2024, offering a concert featuring music by Beethoven, Schubert, Brahms, Fauré, Rebecca Clarke, and more. Following the concert, there will be a Q & A session with the artists.

Additionally, Padmore and Freeman will return on July 27, 2024, to conduct a masterclass for aspiring musicians. This diverse lineup of performances promises to showcase a variety of vocal works and provide audiences with a unique musical experience at the festival.
