‘Moroccan Youth Declare Climate Goals’

In conjunction with Climate Diplomacy Week, which took place from 14 to 18 November 2022 alongside COP27 in Morocco, the European Union hosted a workshop for 40 young Moroccans representing regions affected by climate change. This workshop, organized in partnership with the Association of Life and Earth Sciences Teachers (AESVT), was held on 14 November 2022 in Casablanca with the goal of creating the “Declaration of Young Moroccan Leaders in Favor of the Climate.”

The declaration, aimed at national and international policymakers attending COP27 in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, incorporates the recommendations of these young participants on three key climate change themes: mitigation, adaptation, and the cost of climate change.

Overall, the workshop provided a platform for young Moroccans to voice their concerns and ideas on climate-related issues, highlighting the importance of including diverse perspectives in global climate discussions.
