Meeting held by Friends of Arthritis Patients Association with SSSD

The Friends of Arthritis Patients Association recently held their general assembly meeting, which was presided over by Wahida Abdul Aziz, the Chairperson of the association. The meeting was attended by Mariam Bin Safwan from the Ministry of Community Development, Khawla Al Hammadi from the Social Services Department, and members of the association’s board of directors.

The meeting covered a variety of important topics, including a review of the association’s activities from the previous year, the approval of the minutes from the previous general assembly meeting, the presentation of the operational plan for upcoming activities and initiatives, as well as the budget for the current year. Discussions were also held on ways to improve work mechanisms to enhance health awareness in the community about arthritis, which is considered the “disease of the era.”

In her opening remarks, Wahida Abdul Aziz commended the dedication and hard work of the association’s employees and volunteers in fulfilling the organization’s mission of promoting the health and safety of community members. She emphasized the importance of spreading awareness about arthritis, providing support to those affected by the disease, and praised the Friends of Arthritis Patients Association for its role in promoting health awareness in Sharjah.

Under Wahida Abdul Aziz’s leadership, the Friends of Arthritis Patients Association has made significant strides in 2023 and the first half of 2024, with a focus on advancing Sharjah’s goal of becoming the healthiest city in the region and the world. The association has implemented various initiatives and programs aimed at achieving this objective, aligning with the vision of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, the Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah.

During the meeting, participants emphasized the importance of collaboration with other organizations to launch extensive health awareness campaigns and programs to educate the community about arthritis. The meeting served as a platform for brainstorming ideas and proposals to enhance work mechanisms and foster partnerships with allied organizations.
