March 28th Discussion Thread

This morning’s discussion revolves around the letter H and the number 3.

H3 might immediately bring to mind the H3, the smallest model in the Hummer SUV line. However, H3 is also the name of a launch vehicle, or rocket, currently utilized by the Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA). A successful test flight of the H3 rocket was recently conducted in February of this year.

Furthermore, it’s worth noting that the former US Vice President Hubert Humphrey’s full name was Hubert Horatio Humphrey. He ran for president in 1968 but was defeated by Richard Nixon after serving as Lyndon Johnson’s vice president from 1965.

Moreover, the world would not be the same without molecules. One interesting molecule is triatomic hydrogen, also known as H3, which is composed of three hydrogen atoms. Although H3 is unstable and only exists briefly under certain conditions, it does appear momentarily with some regularity.

In conclusion, it is fascinating how the simple combination of the letter H and the number 3 can lead to such diverse topics ranging from rockets to historical figures and even molecular structures. Have a good Thursday!
