Local Charities Supported by The Talbot in the Community
The Talbot, a prominent hotel in Ripley under Bespoke Hotels ownership, has announced partnerships with local charities Oakleaf and Eikon with the goal of supporting mental health awareness and aiding those in need in Surrey in 2024.
Oakleaf, a mental health charity based in Guildford, focuses on supporting individuals aged 16 and above who are managing their mental health. The charity provides various wellbeing activities, support groups, work-related training, employment guidance, and counseling to foster confidence and reduce social isolation. Additionally, Oakleaf operates as a social enterprise, selling gardening services to the public to raise funds that are reinvested into the charity.
On the other hand, Eikon works with children and young people in Surrey who are facing emotional wellbeing and mental health challenges, equipping them with skills to positively navigate life’s difficulties. Their emphasis is on prevention and early intervention to address concerns before they escalate into crises.
Arvind Azad, the Hotel Manager at The Talbot, expressed excitement about the collaboration, stating, “I am eager to support both charities alongside my team at The Talbot and contribute to the important work being done to assist young people and adults in Surrey.”
Jen Clay, Head of Fundraising and Engagement at Oakleaf, expressed gratitude for The Talbot’s support, emphasizing the partnership’s potential to make a positive impact by ensuring more individuals in Surrey receive necessary mental health and wellbeing support.
Becky Hughes, Grants and Corporate Partnerships Manager at Eikon, commended the community for backing local charities. Hughes highlighted how the partnership will increase awareness of the mental health crisis and raise essential funds to enable Eikon and Oakleaf to provide assistance to individuals in Surrey.
