Leaders of UAE and Azerbaijan discuss mutual collaboration
President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the UAE and President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan recently had a phone call to discuss the cooperation and potential opportunities between the two countries. They talked about ways to strengthen their ties for mutual benefit and sustainable growth.
The two leaders reviewed the progress of their cooperation in various fields such as economy, development, renewable energy, and climate action. They also exchanged viewpoints on different topics of mutual interest. One key topic of discussion was Azerbaijan’s hosting of the upcoming 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29).
The leaders also touched upon the UAE Consensus established during COP28, which aims to accelerate global climate action and tackle climate challenges to promote sustainable development worldwide. This conversation highlights the commitment of both countries to work together towards a more sustainable and prosperous future.
