Leader of Sharjah Pays a Visit to Al Hira Literary Council
H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, recently visited the Al Hira Literary Council, an affiliate of the Department of Culture in Al Hira. The council shared details about its activities and programs with the Sharjah Ruler, which include hosting poetry evenings, organizing festivals, publishing poetry collections, books, and other literary works, as well as preserving poetic heritage through arts revival, circulation, and study.
During the visit, poets and artists engaged in discussions with the Sharjah Ruler about the importance of poetry in Arab culture and how it serves as a means to document events through artistic and poetic expressions that cater to literary preferences.
The group accompanying the Sharjah Ruler included Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Department of Culture; Dr. Salah bin Butti Al Muhairi, Chairman of the Authority of Initiatives Implementation “Mubadara”; and Mohammed Obaid Al Zaabi, Head of the Protocol and Hospitality Department.
This visit highlights the commitment of the Sharjah Ruler to supporting and promoting literary and cultural initiatives within the emirate.
