‘King Frederik X of Denmark reinstated as patron of State of Green’

The Royal House of Denmark has recently announced the list of patronages for the Royal Family, revealing that His Majesty King Frederik X of Denmark will continue his patronage of State of Green for the next five years. This news has been met with great joy by all involved at State of Green, a public-private, not-for-profit partnership that has benefitted from His Majesty’s support since 2008.

Finn Mortensen, Executive Director at State of Green, expressed gratitude and deep honor at His Majesty’s decision to continue his patronage. He highlighted the long-standing relationship between the organization and the Royal Family, citing His Majesty’s involvement in various events over the years, including a recent appearance at the Danish Pavilion at the U.N. Climate Conference, COP28 in Dubai in December 2023. The collaboration aims to showcase Danish green solutions and strengthen ties across industries globally.

In addition to his continued patronage of State of Green, The King also supports several other patronages, including The Copenhagen Climate Ministerial, demonstrating his commitment to the green agenda.

The Royal Family’s patronages play a vital role in supporting non-profit organizations in Denmark, the Realm, and abroad. The King and The Queen emphasized the importance of these patronages in promoting Danish culture, science, and enterprise, as well as protecting nature and giving a voice to the disadvantaged and vulnerable in society.

The renewal of His Majesty’s patronage marks 16 years of promoting the green transition through State of Green. Prior to ascending to the throne on January 14, HM King Frederik X served as the patron of State of Green, actively supporting the promotion of green technology and solutions for a more sustainable future. The organization looks forward to continuing its partnership with His Majesty in the shared mission of building a greener world.
