Taylor Swift is set to dazzle fans on the Scottish leg of her tour with a specially commissioned kimono. The pop sensation will grace the stage at Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh for three nights starting from June 7 to June 9 as part of her highly anticipated The Eras tour.

In a unique collaboration, V&A Dundee museum enlisted the talent of Glasgow School of Art graduate KellyDawn Riot to design a kimono dress that pays homage to Taylor Swift’s 11 albums. The intricate kimono features distinct color schemes representing each album, along with motifs inspired by the singer’s song lyrics.

The one-of-a-kind kimono will be on display at the museum’s latest exhibition, Kimono: Kyoto to Catwalk, starting this Saturday. Museum officials expressed their desire to gift the kimono to Taylor Swift during her time in Scotland, with hopes that it will be a cherished memento of her visit.

Chris Keatch, content manager at V&A Dundee, commented on the collaboration, stating, “Collaborating with KellyDawn Riot to create The Eras Tour Kimono has been a great way to celebrate this exciting pop-culture moment in Scotland.” The museum is working with VisitScotland and Murrayfield Stadium to explore the possibility of presenting the kimono to Taylor’s tour promoters.

The kimono, symbolic of the dynamic nature of fashion and its cultural influences, is a fitting tribute to Taylor Swift’s iconic music journey. KellyDawn Riot shared her excitement about the project, noting the intricate hand-illustrated print filled with subtle nods to Swift’s musical legacy. Fans can expect to see playful references to the singer’s love for cats and lyrical themes intricately woven into the design.

As fans gear up to witness Taylor Swift’s electrifying performances in Scotland, the unveiling of this bespoke kimono adds an extra layer of excitement and anticipation for what promises to be an unforgettable musical experience.
