Karate Combat, the world’s premier full-contact professional fighting league, has partnered with the Department of Economic and Tourism (DET) Dubai and the Dubai Sports Council (DSC) to bring Karate Combat 46 (KC46) to the Emirate this spring.

Expected to be the league’s biggest event yet, KC46 is teaming up with TOKEN2049 for the event on Saturday, April 20. As part of the collaboration, KC46 will be part of the official program of TOKEN2049 Dubai Week, offering conference participants the opportunity to witness one of the most innovative sports leagues in the world through special tickets and opportunities to meet the event’s ambassadors. KC46 will be announced by UFC Hall of Famers Georges St-Pierre (GSP) and Bas Rutten, along with Mike Majlak, author and co-host of the podcast Impaulsive.

Karate Combat is the first professional sports league to be administered and gamified by a token, the $KARATE token. KC46 will be held during TOKEN2049 Week, the largest Web3 gathering in the Emirates which will bring together over 15,000 global crypto community members. Fans can participate in the league by downloading the Karate Combat app for iOS and Android.

Leading up to KC46, the league plans to host special events at the city’s most iconic landmarks, including fighter press conferences featuring the Future Museum and matches in front of the Dubai Frame. The unique 3D VFX background of Karate Combat will also showcase the futuristic skyline of Dubai.

Asim Zaidi, President of Karate Combat, said: “It is our goal to shake up the combat sports world with every event we host. I must say that our planned event in Dubai will truly shake up the online world! With the support of DET and DSC, we will rock the combat sports world. Stay tuned!”

Ahmed Al Khaja, CEO of Festivals and Retail Establishment Dubai – Department of Economic and Tourism Dubai, said: “KC46 is an exciting addition to Dubai’s year-round business, leisure, and sports event calendar.
