‘Joint Venture between Etihad Airways and China Eastern Airlines Announced’

Etihad Airways and China Eastern Airlines have recently signed a groundbreaking Joint Venture (JV) agreement at Etihad’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi, UAE. This historical milestone marks the first commercial JV between a Middle Eastern airline and a Chinese airline.

The Etihad Airways – China Eastern Airlines JV aims to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two airlines and enhance the routes between UAE and China. This collaboration will result in a more robust combined network, offering expanded travel options and seamless travel experiences for passengers traveling between major Chinese cities like Shanghai, Beijing, Xi’an, and Kunming, and key cities in the UAE, Middle East, and Africa regions.

Antonoaldo Neves, CEO of Etihad Airways, expressed confidence that the JV will open up new travel opportunities and boost economic growth in Abu Dhabi and the UAE. Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of Etihad Aviation Group, emphasized that the partnership goes beyond route expansion, focusing on creating long-lasting connections between the two nations.

China Eastern Airlines Chairman Wang Zhiqing also shared his eagerness to work with Etihad Airways to enhance cooperation in various business areas and strengthen the strategic partnership between the two airlines.

This collaboration is set to bring about a new era of travel possibilities and solidify the bond between the UAE and China for years to come.
