Abu Dhabi Ports and ZonesCorp Integration to Boost Industrial Zones

Abu Dhabi’s Higher Corporation for Specialized Economic Zones, ZonesCorp, is set to join Abu Dhabi Ports, aligning strategically with the Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (KIZAD).

This integration comes after ADQ, one of the Middle East’s largest holding companies, announced its facilitation of the move. According to a statement from Abu Dhabi Ports, ZonesCorp will benefit from this alignment with KIZAD, one of the world’s largest industrial zones spanning 410 square kilometers, which is owned and managed by Abu Dhabi Ports.

The collaboration aims to accelerate diversification, provide cost-efficient infrastructure support, and significantly increase the contribution of industrial activities to Abu Dhabi’s GDP. The integration expands Abu Dhabi Port’s industrial and economic zones offering to a combined land area of 554 square kilometers and over 1,400 customers.

ZonesCorp currently houses more than 900 manufacturing and commercial facilities, hosting leading industrial players across various sectors and attracting investments totaling approximately billion (AED 70 billion).

Capt. Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, Group CEO of Abu Dhabi Ports, highlighted the benefits of closer collaboration, emphasizing the leverage of strengths to enhance the competitive value of industrial zones in the global market. Al Shamisi further noted that the industrial cluster will provide increased investment opportunities for customers, granting them easy access to regional markets, improved services, and enhanced scale.
