‘Implications for travellers as Rex makes agreement with Etihad’

Rex Airlines Announces New Partnership with Etihad Airways

In an exciting development for travelers, Rex Airlines has announced a new interline partnership with Etihad Airways, one of the world’s leading airlines. This collaboration with Etihad, the national carrier of the United Arab Emirates, will allow passengers on Rex’s domestic routes to seamlessly connect to Etihad’s extensive global network.

Warrick Lodge, Rex’s General Manager of Network Strategy, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “Partnering with a world-class airline like Etihad brings a new era of choice and connection for Rex passengers.” Passengers will now have the opportunity to fly to Sydney or Melbourne with Rex and then continue their journey to 72 destinations worldwide with Etihad, spanning Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and the USA.

The convenience of booking the entire journey, including connecting flights on both Etihad and Rex, under one reservation with through-check baggage options, will provide a hassle-free travel experience for passengers. Arik De, Etihad’s Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer, highlighted the benefits of the partnership, stating, “This exciting new partnership significantly expands connectivity options for Etihad guests, providing them with effortless access to key destinations within the Rex network.”

Rex flights are now available for booking on Etihad’s website, through travel agents, and online travel agencies. This new partnership further solidifies Rex’s reputation as Australia’s most reliable airline, with the highest rate of on-time departures and the lowest cancellation rate among domestic carriers.

This collaboration with Etihad Airways marks the second interline agreement for Rex, with an existing arrangement in place with Delta Air Lines. Passengers can look forward to enhanced connectivity and seamless travel experiences with Rex and Etihad Airways.
