Hospital in Egypt Supports Patients from Gaza Strip

A state-of-the-art floating hospital, situated in the Egyptian city of Al Arish, is providing much-needed medical assistance to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. Launched in February 2024 as part of “Operation Chivalrous Knight 3,” the hospital aims to address the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the region.

With 120 beds and a team of over 100 medical professionals specializing in various fields, the hospital offers a wide range of services including emergency care, advanced surgical procedures, intensive care, radiology, and laboratory testing. Dr. Ahmed Mubarak, the hospital’s director, highlighted the success of the mission, noting the performance of complex surgeries that were previously unheard of in a field hospital setting.

Since its establishment, the hospital has treated over 180 patients and conducted 430 surgeries, demonstrating an average of five procedures per day. The hospital’s strategic location in Al Arish allows for quick transfer of patients from Gaza, aided by a helipad and dedicated naval vessels for emergency responses.

The humanitarian efforts of the UAE through this floating hospital have received widespread appreciation for delivering high-quality medical care, particularly in performing complex surgeries that have significantly improved the lives of Palestinians in Gaza. This initiative showcases the UAE’s dedication to assisting those in need and promoting regional stability.
