Historic Launch of Smart App on Apple Vision Pro by Utility Company

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has taken a significant step towards enhancing customer services by launching its smart app on Apple Vision Pro glasses. This move makes DEWA the first utility to offer its services through the innovative technology that combines augmented and virtual reality.

By leveraging the capabilities of Apple Vision Pro, DEWA aims to improve its smart adoption and ensure that its services are easily accessible to all customers through different digital channels. The app offers a wide range of services, allowing customers to access their accounts using UAE Pass, a username and password, or through eyeprint authentication. Customers can select their account, view visual data, check bill details, make payments using Apple Pay, access the Smart Living dashboard, and view consumption reports through the My Sustainable Living Programme.

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, emphasized the organization’s commitment to staying at the forefront of technological advancements to provide innovative, safe, and convenient services to customers. DEWA’s advanced digital infrastructure has led to a 99.2% increase in smart adoption among customers.

In 2023, DEWA’s customers conducted approximately 12.5 million digital transactions, showcasing a 25% increase compared to the previous year. This growth highlights DEWA’s pivotal role in supporting Dubai’s vision to become the smartest and happiest city globally. The digital transactions included millions of interactions through DEWA’s website, smart app, and various digital channels provided in collaboration with partners.

DEWA’s integration of Apple Vision Pro glasses into its services underscores its commitment to embracing cutting-edge technologies and facilitating seamless transactions for customers.
