‘Hamdan bin Mohammed participates in Gov Games 2024 on the third day’
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, attended the Gov Games 2024 on its third day. This event, in its fifth edition, is organized in collaboration with the Dubai Sports Council and in association with DP World.
During the event, the Crown Prince expressed his gratitude to the event’s various partners for their support. The Gov Games provide a platform for showcasing talent, celebrating achievements, developing skills, and fostering collaboration among participating teams. Sheikh Hamdan emphasized the importance of strong partnerships between the public and private sectors to promote social creativity, sports, community participation, and performance standards.
Sheikh Hamdan also met with senior officials from the event’s sponsoring entities and thanked them for their active role in the success of the Gov Games. These officials included prominent figures from organizations such as Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, Dubai Sports Council, Emirates General Petroleum Corporation, DP World, and others.
During his visit, Sheikh Hamdan witnessed intense competition among global teams participating in the Battle of the Cities and the Battle of the Community. With 194 teams from around the world participating, this year’s Gov Games is the largest edition to date.
The third day of the Gov Games 2024 highlighted the Battle of the Community category, where 28 teams that had qualified through a rigorous preliminary round showcased their skills. This competition demonstrated the increasing awareness among community members about the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle and actively engaging in international sporting events in Dubai.
