Governor of Texas Appoints Ladner as Chair and Houston to Risk Management Board

Texas Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Jeffrey Houston to the Risk Management Board, with Gerald Ladner, Sr. named as the chair of the board. The appointments are effective until February 1, 2025. The board’s role includes coordinating, monitoring, and directing information resources management within state government.

Jeffrey Houston, hailing from Dripping Springs, is a senior vice president at Mondee Holdings, Inc. in Austin. He is a member of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Society of Austin and has previously been associated with the CFA Society of Chicago. Additionally, he holds the position of president of the Terrascena Property Owners Association.

Gerald Ladner, Sr., based in Austin, has had a 42-year career in the property & casualty insurance industry, serving in various senior executive roles. His experience includes vice president roles at Strategic Agent Partnerships, External Affairs, Sales, and Regional President for State Auto, a new division of Liberty Mutual. He has also held positions at Zenith Insurance Company and Zurich North America. Ladner currently serves as an Independent Board Director for Educational and Institutional Insurance Administrators, Inc. and is a member of several industry organizations, including the Independent Insurance Agents of Texas, Insurance Council of Texas, and the InfraGard National Members Alliance.

The appointments of Jeffrey Houston and Gerald Ladner, Sr. bring extensive experience and expertise to the Risk Management Board, positioning the board to effectively fulfill its responsibilities within the Texas state government.
