‘Government positions appointed to Papin, spouse of Koko’

President Marcos has recently made two new appointments to key government posts, signaling a shakeup in his administration. Kathryna Yu-Pimentel, a skilled chef, has been selected as the special envoy for trade and investments to the United Arab Emirates. Her appointment comes with a six-month term and was formalized during a ceremony at Malacañang, where she was supported by her husband, Senate Minority Leader Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III.

Accompanied by her husband, Yu-Pimentel also had the opportunity to meet with UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan during a courtesy call on Marcos at the Palace. This move demonstrates the government’s commitment to strengthening relations with key international partners.

In a separate development, renowned singer Imelda Papin has been tapped as the acting member of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) board of directors. Papin, known for her vocal talent, also swore her oath before President Marcos, solidifying her new role in the organization.

These appointments come on the heels of the President’s decision to appoint retired Marikina regional trial court judge Felix Reyes as the new PCSO chairman, replacing Junie Cua. The reshuffling of key positions within the government reflects a strategic approach to governance and administration under the leadership of President Marcos.
