“Global Fox Entertainment Makes TV Deal with Third-Party Company”

Fox’s sales house, Fox Entertainment Global (FEG), has secured its first third-party distribution agreement for a TV series with the Australian docu-soap, “Billion Dollar Playground.” FEG will be selling tape and format rights for the show worldwide, which is set to premiere on Foxtel’s streamer Binge this summer, alongside the returning series “Selling Houses Australia.”

“Billion Dollar Playground,” produced by Ronde Media and unveiled at MIPCOM Cannes, offers a glimpse into the world of opulent homestays through the lens of Luxico, Australia’s leading luxury hospitality and concierge provider. The show follows the international staff as they navigate the demanding needs of their guests and explore their own relationships.

Since its launch in September 2022, FEG has distributed several third-party movies in addition to selling in-house Fox TV content. However, “Billion Dollar Playground” marks the first third-party TV show for the sales house. FEG will distribute eight one-hour episodes of the program to networks and platforms outside of Australia, while also representing international format rights.

David Smyth, FEG’s Executive Vice President of Content Sales and Partnerships, expressed excitement about adding “Billion Dollar Playground” to FEG’s catalog. He highlighted the show’s appeal to docu-soap fans with its mix of drama, intrigue, romance, and exclusive behind-the-scenes access to the world of the ultra-wealthy.

The announcement of this deal comes on the eve of the LA Screenings event. “Billion Dollar Playground” is executive produced by Ben Davies and David Emery, with Bethan Briegel-Jones as co-EP and Anita Brown as post EP.

This deal marks a significant milestone for FEG as it continues to expand its portfolio of owned and third-party content and showcases its ability to cater to global audiences.
