Funding Awarded to Four Art Organizations for Special Projects

The City Council has approved Arts Initiative Grants for four local arts organizations, totaling ,500. These grants, funded by the hotel/motel tax fund and recommended by the Cultural Arts Commission, aim to support special projects and opportunities not covered by the organizations’ regular budgets.

Out of nine applicants, four organizations were chosen to receive funding for their projects. The Dallas Chinese Community Center received ,500 for the Mother’s Day Ikebana Workshop with Art Exhibition & Award Ceremony. Chamberlain Ballet was granted ,000 for their collaboration project “They Sing, They Dance” with local arts groups at the Eisemann Center. OutLoud received ,000 for their See Me Interactive Performance and Exhibition at the Eisemann Center, while the Richardson Symphony Orchestra was awarded ,000 for their Community Pops Concert at UT Dallas.

These Arts Initiative Grants are separate from the yearly cultural arts grants recommended by the Commission, which supported 24 organizations for the 2023-24 fiscal year.
