Fulfillment Startup Shorages Secures M in Pre-Series A Funding

Shorages, a fulfillment start-up based in the GCC, made headlines on April 25, 2024, as it successfully secured a pre-series A funding round of ,000,000 following its launch in KSA.

The company offers a network of fulfillment centers that give merchants access to the infrastructure necessary to boost online sales in the GCC. With fulfillment centers in the UAE and KSA, Shorages can now receive inventory and fulfill orders locally and internationally for the merchants they partner with.

Functioning as an omnichannel logistics provider, Shorages is well-equipped with the necessary infrastructure to assist merchants in launching and expanding their business across B2B and B2C channels. The company has already supported various brands with their online and offline product distribution and utilizes economies of scale to negotiate favorable terms with suppliers, passing on these benefits to their merchants.

A key focus for the company is the development of its technology. Shorages has designed a warehouse management and order fulfillment system that serves as a central software for merchants to operate through. The platform provides complete visibility of stock levels, order statuses, and sales performance, seamlessly integrating with popular B2C channels like Shopify, Sala, and WooCommerce, as well as major marketplaces such as Amazon and Noon.

The recent funding round will primarily be used for international expansion as Shorages aims to establish more warehouses across the GCC. With a presence already in KSA, the company will focus on enabling brands to expand into the Kingdom, acting as a bridge between the UAE and KSA.

Shorages has ambitious plans to become a key player in the GCC’s 3PL ecosystem. CEO Rayan Osseiran explains the company’s vision to serve as the logistics infrastructure for companies looking to expand into the GCC region.

The funding round was led by Joa Capital as part of their S3 Ventures Fund. Abdulrahman Almousa, partner at Joa Capital, expressed their support for Shorages, emphasizing their commitment to backing innovative companies that are poised to revolutionize commerce in the GCC and beyond. Joa Capital’s investment in Shorages aligns with their mission to cultivate long-term partnerships with visionary entrepreneurs and amplify impactful solutions across the region for a more interconnected and vibrant future.
