From September, RTA introduces On & Off Bus service
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced a new initiative aimed at enhancing tourism in the city – the On & Off Bus. This exciting project is designed to attract both residents and visitors to explore Dubai’s iconic landmarks and tourist attractions.
Ahmed Bahrozyan, CEO of the Public Transport Agency at RTA, emphasized the importance of tourism in driving Dubai’s economic growth and GDP. He stated, “The Dubai On & Off Bus will contribute to the integration of the public transport system in Dubai by connecting with other modes of public transport such as the metro, marine transport, and public buses. This integration will be particularly evident at Al Ghubaiba station, a major hub for various modes of public transportation.”
The On & Off Bus will begin its journey at Dubai Mall, stopping at eight key attractions and landmarks including the Dubai Frame, Heritage Village, Museum of the Future, Gold Souk, Dubai Mall, La Mer Beach, Jumeirah Mosque, and City Walk. This route will showcase the best of Dubai’s culture, history, and modernity, offering passengers a comprehensive tour of the city.
In addition to the eight main stops, the bus will also pass through Al Ghubaiba Metro, Bus, and Marine Transport Station, highlighting the seamless connection between different modes of transportation in Dubai. This station serves as a model of Dubai’s integrated public transport network, making it easy for passengers to navigate the city using various modes of transport.
The On & Off Bus will officially launch in September, operating from 10am to 10pm with departures every 60 minutes. The entire journey will take approximately two hours, giving passengers ample time to explore each attraction at their own pace. The fare for this experience is set at AED35 per person, allowing unlimited rides for a full day.
This new initiative by the RTA is not only a convenient way for tourists and residents to see the best of Dubai but also a strategic move to boost the city’s tourism industry. By providing a comprehensive and efficient transportation option for visitors, Dubai aims to further solidify its position as a premier tourist destination in the region.
With its commitment to innovation and excellence, the RTA continues to set the standard for public transportation in Dubai. The On & Off Bus is just one example of the authority’s efforts to enhance the overall transportation experience for residents and visitors alike. By integrating various modes of transport and highlighting the city’s most popular attractions, this initiative is sure to be a success.
As Dubai looks towards a post-pandemic recovery and a resurgence in tourism, initiatives like the On & Off Bus play a crucial role in attracting visitors and stimulating economic growth. With its world-class infrastructure and commitment to service excellence, Dubai is well-positioned to welcome travelers from around the globe and provide them with unforgettable experiences.
