Free Outdoor Programs for Kids and Families

Sequim Library Offers Engaging Spring Break Programs for Families and Children
The Sequim Library is set to provide a range of free, interactive programs designed for children and families during the upcoming Spring Break. These initiatives aim to foster creativity and enhance problem-solving skills among participants through hands-on activities.
Held at the library’s temporary location at 609 W. Washington St., these events target school-aged children, and adult supervision is required for those under the age of nine. The library will supply all necessary materials for the activities, ensuring that families can enjoy a fun and stimulating experience without any financial burden.
The schedule of remaining Spring Break events includes:
Saturday, March 29 – Spring Break Build It! with LEGO
From 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM, children will have the opportunity to unleash their creativity in a vibrant LEGO building session. Participants can construct original designs, encouraging imaginative play and active engagement. This program not only promotes creativity but also helps develop fine motor skills as children manipulate various LEGO pieces to bring their ideas to life.
Thursday, April 3 – Spring Break STEAM: Paper Circuit Art
On April 3, from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM, children aged six and older are invited to explore the intersection of art and technology through the “Spring Break STEAM: Paper Circuit Art” program. This unique workshop introduces participants to basic electronics as they create two- or three-dimensional art pieces that utilize circuits to light up. No previous background in electronics is required, making it accessible for all skill levels.
For further information about these youth programs, interested parties can visit the North Olympic Library System’s events page at NOLS.org/events, contact the library via email at youth@nols.org, or call 360-683-1161. These programs, funded in part by the Friends of Sequim Library, reflect the library’s commitment to supporting educational and creative initiatives for the community’s youth.
As families look forward to Spring Break, the Sequim Library stands out as a key resource for enriching and enjoyable activities. With a focus on hands-on learning and creativity, these events not only entertain young participants but also contribute to their overall development, making the library a vital part of the local community.
