First Flight from Samarkand to Istanbul Takes Off

Air Samarkand, a leading airline in Uzbekistan, achieved a significant milestone by launching its first regular flight from Samarkand to Istanbul on March 21. This development represents a major step towards increased connectivity between Uzbekistan and key international destinations.

The new flights will initially operate twice a week, with departures scheduled for Tuesdays and Fridays. However, the airline has ambitious plans to expand its regular services to include additional destinations like Tbilisi, Dubai, Jeddah, and other cities in Turkey. This expansion will provide travelers with a wider range of options for their journeys.

Istanbul holds great importance as a primary and sought-after destination from Samarkand. The city has strong economic, cultural, and touristic ties with Uzbekistan, making it a crucial connection point for travelers.

Air Samarkand aims to increase its fleet to 8 Airbus aircraft by the end of 2024. While the airline currently operates charter flights, regular flights are set to commence at the end of March, coinciding with the start of the summer navigation season. Istanbul plays a significant role in the airline’s plans for growth and expansion.

Under the leadership of CEO Anton Khojayan, Air Samarkand is committed to improving its operations and connectivity in the coming years. Stay updated on global news by following Daryo’s official Instagram and Twitter pages.
