‘Experienced Nashville Chief Information Officer Keith Durbin Steps Down’
Keith Durbin, the longtime IT leader for the city of Nashville and Davidson County, Tenn., has retired after serving for 15 years. His last day as CIO was on May 10. John Griffey, who has been Nashville’s chief security officer and assistant director of information security services for nearly nine years, has been appointed as the interim CIO and director of Information Technology Services (ITS).
Durbin expressed his strong support for Griffey on LinkedIn, stating that he believes Griffey will excel in the interim CIO role. Durbin also reflected on his time with the city, calling it “epic” and expressing feelings of pride and gratitude. He thanked his executive team and multiple mayors for their support during his tenure.
With Durbin’s retirement, a new chapter begins for the IT leadership in Nashville. Griffey will be tasked with maintaining the city’s technological infrastructure and leading the ITS department into the future. The city looks forward to continued progress and innovation under Griffey’s interim leadership.
