Everything you should know about extending your tourist visa in Dubai

Dubai is a sought-after travel destination for both business and leisure, attracting visitors from around the globe. With so much to see and do in the city, many visitors often wish they could extend their stay.

If you have a tourist visa valid for 30 or 60 days, you can stay in the country for an additional 30 days by renewing your visitor visa through various channels. One option is to use the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) website. Simply register with your email, log in, fill out the application, attach your passport, pay the fee of Dh600 plus 5% VAT, and wait for confirmation.

Alternatively, you can utilize the GDFRA app by signing up or logging in, filling out the details, attaching your passport, submitting the fee, and awaiting confirmation. Another avenue is the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICP) website, where you can register, fill out the application, attach your passport, pay the fee, and wait for confirmation.

For those who prefer in-person assistance, the Amer Service Centre allows you to visit the nearest Customer Happiness Centre, submit your application and documents, pay the fee, and complete the process. If you prefer an online option, you can visit the Amer website and select the relevant tourist visa type before proceeding with the application and payment.

While the standard cost of a visa extension is Dh600 plus 5% tax, the total amount may vary depending on your circumstances. After completing the renewal process, you can expect to hear back regarding your visa extension request within 48 hours. This streamlined process makes it easier for visitors to extend their stay in Dubai and continue to enjoy all that the city has to offer.
