Event promoting Zayed Sustainability Prize 2024 organized by UAE Embassy in Buenos Aires

The UAE Embassy in Buenos Aires recently partnered with the Zayed Sustainability Prize to host an event aimed at introducing the prestigious award and encouraging organizations in Argentina to participate in the 2024 edition.

The event saw the participation of notable figures such as Saeed Abdullah Al Qamzi, UAE Ambassador to Argentina, Ramzi Teymurov, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Argentina, and Julio Glinternick Bitelli, Ambassador of Brazil to Argentina. Along with various officials and stakeholders in the education and sustainability sectors in Argentina.

During the event, Al Qamzi highlighted the UAE’s commitment to sustainability and announced the extension of the “Year of Sustainability” initiative to 2024. This initiative builds on the success of 2023, which saw the UAE host the 28th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) and the announcement of the groundbreaking UAE Consensus on global climate action.

Al Qamzi also introduced the Zayed Sustainability Prize, which was established in 2008 to support innovative environmental solutions that positively impact individuals and society. The prize commemorates the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and his efforts in promoting sustainability and humanitarian causes.

Overall, the event aimed to raise awareness about the Zayed Sustainability Prize and encourage participation from organizations in Argentina to contribute towards a more sustainable future.
