‘Enrolling in a Code Assistant for Ansible Lightspeed Program by IBM’

Last year, Red Hat introduced Red Hat Ansible Lightspeed with IBM watsonx Code Assistant, a generative AI service designed to help IT teams create, maintain, and deploy Ansible content more efficiently. Recently, IBM announced new subscription options for IBM watsonx Code Assistant, the AI model behind the Ansible Lightspeed service. These new plans provide subscribers of Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform with more flexibility in exploring and utilizing Ansible Lightspeed with IBM watsonx Code Assistant.

To access Ansible Lightspeed with watsonx Code Assistant, users must have an active Ansible Automation Platform subscription or sign up for a trial subscription. Additionally, users need to subscribe to IBM watsonx Code Assistant by selecting a suitable subscription package.

A significant enhancement to Ansible Lightspeed is the addition of a new model customization feature. This feature allows users to utilize their existing Ansible content to train the watsonx Code Assistant model, resulting in more accurate code recommendations tailored to their organization’s specific needs and automation patterns.

The technical preview version of Ansible Lightspeed with watsonx Code Assistant, which was launched last year, will be retired on February 29, 2024. With the introduction of new subscription options and upcoming features, users are encouraged to transition to the commercial service using the outlined subscription packages.
