Energy Recognition Program introduced by DSCE

Dubai has launched the Dubai Demand Side Management Recognition Programme to commend and reward individuals and organizations who are actively contributing to the city’s sustainable future through energy and water efficiency, circular economy practices, innovation, and overall environmental conservation efforts.

The categories within the programme cover a wide range of initiatives aimed at reducing energy consumption, from innovative green construction projects to advancements in energy-efficient cooling technologies.

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, emphasized the importance of the programme in promoting energy efficiency, water conservation, sustainability, and the circular economy. This aligns with the vision of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to create a green economy and foster sustainable development.

Ahmed Buti Al Muhairbi, Secretary-General of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, highlighted the programme’s significance in honoring outstanding achievements in Dubai and supporting the Demand Side Management Strategy, which aims to reduce energy and water usage by 30 percent by 2030.

The programme has received a strong response from both the public and private sectors, with over 86 entries submitted for evaluation by an expert committee. The winners, who will be announced in May 2024, will showcase exemplary projects in green building, energy-efficient cooling, and other key areas contributing to a more sustainable future.

Overall, the Dubai Demand Side Management Recognition Programme underscores the city’s commitment to sustainability and highlights the innovative efforts being made to create a greener and more efficient urban environment.
