‘Eggersmann Successfully Finishes Large Project’

A new state-of-the-art plant, ReSource Denmark, located in Esbjerg, is now operational and ready to process a total of 160,000 tonnes of plastic waste per year. This facility will not only cater to Denmark but also to other parts of Scandinavia. The main focus of this facility is on mechanical and chemical recycling of plastic waste.

The plastic waste undergoes a meticulous process where it is separated into eleven different fractions. This includes various types of plastics such as LDP, HDPE, PP, and PE film, along with composite materials and both magnetic and non-magnetic metals. The purity levels achieved through this process range between 90% and 94%, depending on the specific fraction.

The commissioning of the plant with actual material began in January of this year, following the installation process that started in May 2023. Eggersmann, the general contractor, installed approximately 140 tonnes of steel and about 1.6 km of conveyor belts within six months. Additionally, BRT HARTNER, an expert in stationary recycling machines within the Eggersmann Group, was also instrumental in the successful completion of this project.

Overall, ReSource Denmark is poised to make a significant impact in the recycling industry by efficiently processing plastic waste and contributing to a more sustainable future. With cutting-edge technology and a commitment to high purity levels, this plant is set to play a crucial role in promoting a circular economy in the region.
