Dulcie band from Perth officially disbands after six years of music-making

Indie pop band Dulcie has announced the bittersweet news that they are parting ways after six years of making music together. The Perth trio, made up of Ashleigh Carr-White on vocals and keys, Timieka Denton on vocals and bass, and Saskia Brittain on vocals and guitar, made the announcement on Instagram to their loyal following of over 12,500 followers.

Instead of sharing the news with heavy hearts and sadness, the girls expressed that their time in the band had been “beautiful, crazy, and thrilling.” They shared that the band had been their “absolute everything” and that they would miss creating music and playing for their fans dearly. Despite not providing a reason for the split, they expressed gratitude for the experiences and memories they had created together.

The trio went on to thank their fans, producers, writers, and fellow musicians for their support throughout their musical journey. The news of Dulcie disbanding has left fans and industry peers heartbroken, with Triple J presenters Ash McGregor and Bridget Hustwaite expressing their admiration and love for the band.

Forming during their studies at WAAPA, Dulcie made a name for themselves in the Australian music scene, sharing stages with notable artists like Ocean Alley, G-Flip, and Amy Shark. They performed at festivals like GTM, Laneway, WA Day, and Spilt Milk, showcasing their talent and unique sound to audiences across the country. Their final performance was at Pollen Festival on March 24 at Port Beach Brewery.

Although the band is parting ways, their music and memories will be cherished by fans and the Australian music community for years to come.
