The upgrades include state-of-the-art enhancements such as the introduction of 6,000-tonne and 3,000-tonne ship lifts, which have more than doubled DMC’s vessel handling capabilities—from 400 to 1,000 ships annually. The upgrades don’t stop at improved ship lifts. DMC has signed an agreement for the construction of four sets of ship cradles, of which two are already operational. These cradles accommodate vessels weighing up to 6,000 tonnes and measuring 140 meters in length, thus increasing docking capacity by an additional 100 vessels annually.
