‘Dubai Expo 2020 museum to debut with unique weekend activities’

Expo 2020 Dubai Museum Set to Open on May 18, 2024

Expo City Dubai has announced that the Expo 2020 Dubai Museum will be open to the public on May 18, 2024, coinciding with International Museum Day. To mark the occasion, Expo City is offering a 50 percent discount on all other attractions, which include Alif, Terra, the Women’s and Vision Pavilions, and the Garden in the Sky. Additionally, from May 18–19, visitors can enjoy free combined admission to the new museum and the three Stories of Nations exhibitions in the city.

The Expo 2020 Dubai Museum showcases the spirit of global collaboration and innovation that was exemplified during the World Expo project. Visitors can embark on a journey through the entire Expo 2020 project, gaining insights into the visitor experience with interactive content catering to younger audiences and captivating mixed-media exhibits.

The museum covers various aspects of Expo 2020, from its inception and bid process to the challenges faced during the pandemic and subsequent postponement, leading up to the historic opening ceremony and the six-month event. It also acknowledges the UAE’s first attempt to participate in a world expo in the 1970s and highlights the enduring legacy and significance of Expo 2020.

Guided tours of the museum in the Opportunity District will be available every 30 minutes. In addition to the exhibitions, visitors can explore an Expo 2020 library, purchase event mementos, and collect nation stamps for Expo “passports.” The museum also features conference rooms that can be rented out for events.

Starting on May 20, the museum will be included in Expo City’s one-day Attractions Pass, priced at AED 120 (). Alternatively, visitors can opt for a combined ticket at AED 50 () for individuals over 12 years old, AED 40 () for children aged 4 to 11, and free entry for children under 3. This ticket grants access to both the Expo 2020 Museum and the three Stories of Nations displays.
